Clap.
It rings.
Found.

How it works
Turn it on once.
Then just clap.
Three steps, and nothing to sign up for.
- 01Start listeningOpen EchoFind and tap Start listening, or use the widget or the Quick Settings tile. A small notification shows it is listening.
- 02Clap or whistleCan't find the phone? Clap twice (or three times) or whistle. It rings, vibrates and flashes, even in silent mode.
- 03Tap StopStop it from the screen, the lock screen or the notification. EchoFind listens again by itself, ready for next time.

Clap or whistle
Two claps or a whistle,
and it rings back.
Choose two or three claps, a whistle, or both. EchoFind listens for a sharp clap pattern or a steady whistle tone and ignores ordinary talk around it.
- Two or three claps, or a whistle
- Rings even on silent, with vibration
- Listens again by itself after each find

Sensitivity
It reacts to you,
not to the TV.
Five sensitivity levels with a live meter and a test button, so you can see what EchoFind hears and set it for your room before you need it.
- Levels 1 to 5 with a live meter
- Test it any time
- Pro: learn my clap and learn my whistle, for fewer false alarms

Light and sound
Ring, buzz
and flash.
The flashlight blinks or stays on so you can spot the phone in a dark room, with the sound, ring length and vibration you choose. Older phones get a bright screen flash.
- Steady or blinking flashlight
- 3 built-in sounds, ring length and vibration presets
- Pro: 12 sounds, your own audio file, SOS and strobe

History
Every find,
with date and time.
Each find is listed with when it happened and whether it was a clap, a whistle or a test. Only that is kept: no sound is ever recorded.
- The last 7 days, free
- Pro: the full history with CSV export
- Delete everything in one place

Privacy
It listens.
It never records.
Sound is analysed on the phone in a fraction of a second and thrown away. The sound never leaves your phone.
- Never recorded, saved or sent
- No account; Pro removes the ads
- Green mic dot while listening, Stop any time
And more
The small things,
done right.
How a clap is told apart
Two sharp sounds,
close together.
EchoFind looks for a pattern, not just a loud noise. One clap alone is ignored, and so is a long sound like music or a TV. Two claps inside a short window ring the phone.
- One clap alone: ignored
- A long, steady sound: ignored
- Two claps inside the window: the phone rings
Illustrative example. The window and the levels change with the sensitivity you set.

Privacy
It listens.
It never records.
The microphone is used only to hear a clap or a whistle. Sound is analysed in memory and thrown away at once. Only the time and type of each find are kept, on your phone.
Only what the ad networks in the free version collect: the advertising ID, device and app information, ad interactions and an approximate location from your IP address, never your sound or your history. Payments are handled by Google Play; EchoFind checks your purchase on the device. Politique de confidentialité →
Questions,
answered.
Does EchoFind record what I say?
No. Sound is analysed in short frames in memory, only to tell whether it was a clap or a whistle, and each frame is thrown away at once. Nothing is recorded, saved or sent.
Will it ring when the phone is on silent?
Yes. EchoFind rings on the alarm channel, so it sounds in silent and vibrate mode. If you also want it in Do Not Disturb, turn on that option and allow access when asked.
Why is there a notification while it listens?
Android requires a visible notification when an app uses the microphone in the background. It also gives you Pause and Stop buttons.
Does it go off with the TV or music?
It is built to ignore long, steady sounds and single knocks. Use the sensitivity levels and the test button to set it for your room; Pro can learn your own clap or whistle.
Does it work when the phone is switched off?
No. EchoFind can only answer while it is listening and the phone is on. Some phones stop background apps to save battery; the Reliability screen in the app shows how to keep it running.
What do I get for free?
The whole core job: clap and whistle detection, ring, vibration and flash even on silent, sensitivity with a live meter, 3 sounds, 7 days of history, widget and tile. The free version never expires; it shows ads, and Pro removes them.
